Abstract

In this present research we show the results of the Discourse Analysis applied to the newspapers El Mercurio and La Tercera. Its in relation with the Chilean-Peruvian conflict at the year 2005. This article provides an theoretical framework for think the mass media as industries that reinforce the present values in the context Based on this, we want to demonstrate as the mass media, in this particular case, it helps to strengthen the climate of antagonism between these two Latin American countries. We proponed that this is a history / memory, built in opposition, and where the mass media discourses have a role that reinforce stereotypes.
