Abstract

Eliseo Verón is a high-profile intellectual of his generation, alongside authors such as Bourdieu, Eco and Martin Barbero, among others, and an obligatory reference in the area of social sciences in Latinomérica. Make a major overhaul of the landing of semiotics in Chile, not without difficulties, reflecting on his epistemic status. Since sixty (as evidenced the same Veron, 1974; Escudero, 1998 Magariños of Moretin, 1990) begins installing a concern in Latin America for the logical development of semiotics, which has been recognized worldwide and institutions while diverse, but has continued to develop increasingly.
