Abstract

In this study we analyze the psychometrical properties of the Sexual Machism Scale in a sample of Chilean university students and a sample of Peruvian university students. The sample was conformed by 303 male students from two private universities located in province cities in each of both countries. We applied the 12 items Sexual Machism Scale by Díaz et al. (2010), that was designed and validated in Mexico. The psychometric values indicate that the test has a one-dimensional structure calculated by confirmatory factor analysis and adequate levels of reliability only for the Chilean sample. The original test structural model is not confirmed, since an item had to be removed.
